Week 15

Ellie had a big week. She and I ventured by ourselves to Birmingham to visit her Uncle Matthew, Aunt Jen, Cousin Mills and to meet her new cousin Hayes who was 4 weeks old. Mills is a wonderful cousin and referred to Ellie as "Cousin Baby Ellie".  Ellie has also started laughing hysterically which is so cute. If you start giggling, she will start giggling. Adam also came home for the week which was nice considering that Ellie decides she likes to sleep through the night when he comes home. We'll see if it lasts when Adam leaves for Europe. Ellie has also had a special visits from her "Auntie" Christie and "Auntie" Em while Adam has been out of town. It has been nice having an extra pair of hands and just hanging out with the girls.

Week 14

Unfortunately, I did an awful job of keeping up with everything going on this week. Not sure if it was lack of sleep, being busy, or things just falling by the wayside. Anyhow, here are a few pictures from that week.

Week 13

We are yet again trying to get Ellie down on somewhat of a routine especially at night. So all this week, we pretty much stayed home and worked on napping in her crib which has been somewhat of a challenge. Ellie will nap in her crib for maybe 30 minutes and then gets up and would rather nap in her rock and play which is similar to a cradle but it hugs you in and makes you feel all cozy or at least, Ellie always looks cozy. But lately Ellie has been waking up at 4am and having a hard tome going to sleep. I upped her milk at night to 7 oz and she slept until 6am so it was either a fluke it happened or she just needed more to eat.

One day we put on Sesame Street just to see if maybe some chance she would be intrigued by it. She loved it. Obviously, she doesn't know what the heck is going on, but whenever Elmo would come on the screen she would flash the biggest grin. And mommy was so happy because she was able to get in a shower a few days this week!!!

Ellie has been very curious with her hands. She will make fists and look at them and then stick her hand in her mouth. It is really neat to see Ellie start discovering things. On September 6th, Ellie rolled over all by herself which was even more exciting in the fact that Adam got to see it take place on skype. She is doing amazing with tummy time.

We have started to play "boo" with Ellie and if we have caught her in a good mood, she actually starts to laugh and smile.

Uncle Rico and Uncle Sikes (Adam's good high school friends) were in Atlanta over the weekend and made a special trip to the 'burbs to meet Ellie. Uncle Sikes was alittle unsure of holding Ellie but Uncle Rico loved holding Ellie and I think Ellie like him as well.

Week 12 Videos

Week 12

Ellie has made big strides in Tummy Time this week. I had been doing it pretty much daily but Ellie hated it. So what does a mommy do when they know it's good for their child but they don't like it...we do it even more often (but in little time intervals). Well towards the end of this week, Ellie just lifted herself up and was so strong.

We had another playdate this week with one of my high school friends and her son who is about 8 months. It was very nice getting out of the house and I think Ellie enjoyed watching Porter play with his toys.

I know I probably say this every week, but every week Ellie seems to be "talking" more and so much more content just hanging out. I had a busy day yesterday and had to go to the doctor and then get a much needed haircut. She just hung out in her stroller. I must say though, I now know why I don't venture out much and I think I am okay with that. It is just alot of work and then of course at the doctor's office, Ellie had a huge dirty diaper and so we had to change her clothes and everything.

Ellie attended her first bridal shower for my cousin's fiance, Lauren. She was quite the hit.
