Week 20

This was a big week in the Foster house. Ellie has started on fruits and veggies!!! Her very first veggie that we tried was mashed up avacodo which went okay but I don't think I was able to get it smooth enough so for the time being I have her on organic jar baby food and then will attempt to start making my own food for her once she gets used to it. We currently just finished up the 4 days "allergy test" on sweet potatoes and they seemed to be a huge hit with Ellie. I think the whole act of a spoon going in her mouth is odd to her but every time I fed her she would smile so I think that is a good sign. And at times, she seems to enjoy the bib we have on her more than anything, but it's a start. Next on the list is prunes. Wish us luck!
Not so sure of this

This tastes funny

Not so bad after all

Week 19

This week we have spent alot of time on a blanket outside enjoying this wonderful weather. Needless to say, I didn't take that many pictures unfortunately. I guess you have those weeks. So here is my one picture that I took from week 19 just to say I took one of my baby girl.
Enjoying the Fall weather

Ellie has discovered her voice and has started doing this crazy but cute shrieks. And it is so funny because when it comes out of her mouth, she seems so surprised.

Week 18

I am feeling like the weeks are flying by since Ellie has arrived even more so now with me really delving into Stella & Dot part-time....there isn't enough hours in the day. I honestly thought me staying home, I would be able to get a ton done...not so much. The closets that were organized when I was nesting is now disheveled and I can barely keep track of the laundry.

But Ellie is doing amazing. Sleeping like I said has been a struggle even with Adam coming home. But today we did have a 2 hour nap in her crib all by herself...thank the lord. Because Ellie's baptism is this week and I ended up getting mastitis so I was out of commission for a few days. Ellie is laughing up a storm and loves it when we bury our head into her tummy or when we give her kisses on her neck. She has he cutest little giggle and every once in awhile will let a shriek out. So stinkn' cute. In the morning, she sits in her bumbo and we make Adam's lunch for him.

One of my most favorite times lately to watch Ellie is when we are running errands and she in that in between state of almost falling alseep and she seems so peaceful and is just watching out the window...I always am wondering what she is thinking.

Ellie also has learned how to work it in the cute deparment. She will be whining in her crib and as soon as we walk in to check on her, she stops crying or whining and will give this big gummy grin and wave her arms around.

Ellie had her 4 month check up and has bumped herself up to the 50% in weight...she weighed 13lbs and 13 oz. She was also introduced to alittle rice cereal in her bottle in the evening since I am not producing as much milk because of my mastitis. She doesn't seem to mind it. This weekend we will attempt giving her some with a spoon.

We also had Ellie's baptism at our church, All Saints. It was a beautiful ceremony even if the priest kept calling Adam Marc for some reason. Jackie, my sister and Adam's brother, Matthew are Ellie's godparents. She wore the gown that I wore when I was baptised. It was a gorgeous day out and we were so lucky to have all of our friends and family to celebrate. More pictures to come from this day.

Best invention ever...Mom used to put me in a laundry basket with pillows and I loved it so I tried with Ellie....it's amazing. As we speak she has been entertained in it for 45 minutes while I catch up with this blog

Week 17

Today was a great week...Adam was coming home and is going to be home for a couple of months! I know it will be nice for Ellie for see Adam on a regular basis.

Ellie is continuing to reach for things that are in front of her. It's amazing how one day, she isn't concerned about objects in front of her and then all of a sudden she starts reaching out and grabbing things. We are continuing to work on her sleeping...hasn't been the easiest thing...I thought by now she would be sleeping through the night, but turns out baby girl likes sleeping close to or with her momma....so thank goodness Gigi and Adam have been helping with this (although it feels good to be so connected and loved by something so perfect).

Adam and I also took Ellie to get our pumpkins for halloween. Unfortunately, it was alittle gloomy and a tad windy so I am not sure if Ellie enjoyed it that much but we got a few cute pictures. Now we are trying to figure out what her halloween costume will be this year.

UT game was alittle scary to watch

Week 16

Ellie is continuing to grow learn about new things every day. This week she grabbed her passy out of her mouth all by herself. Granted she just waved it around, but it was still a neat thing to see. It's amazing how excited you get about the littlest things when you are a parent.

She has discovered her legs. And I can only imaging when she starts crawling. She has gone from sitting nicely in her bath seat to lifting up and being a wiggle worm while we give her a bath. I have to have a hand on her so she doesn't fall off her seat. Along with that, I have had to start strapping her into everything which Ellie is not a fan of.

Auntie Christie was a wonderful friend and came and stayed with Ellie two weekends in a row. It was so much fun to have her with us especially since I was roomates with her for 4 years. We had alot of girl time to talk. She even came over one night at midnight because I needed some help and when Ellie wasn't feeling better, she held Ellie until she fell asleep. Auntie Em also came and visited for dinner a couple of times.

Ellie is starting to recognize people on skype and will start flirting and smiling with anyone you skype with. She loves skyping with her daddy when he's out of town and also her Great Nonnie and Great Popa Podgers who will meet Ellie during Thanksgiving this year.
